Expertise and experience

Associate Professor John Laidlaw provides expert neurosurgical care for a wide range of conditions affecting the brain, spine and peripheral nerves. He is recognised nationally and internationally as a leader in the field of cerebrovascular surgery (particularly for aneurysms, AVM, and bypass for moyamoya), and also has extensive experience and expertise in the management of brain tumours, trigeminal neuralgia and spinal conditions (particularly complex cervical spine surgery).

Our experience has taught us not to underestimate the difficulties facing our patients. We know that neurosurgical diagnoses, and the risks and benefits of the many treatment options, are worrying and often difficult to understand. Therefore we aim to provide you with accurate information and also time for discussion and reflection. 

Working closely with an expert team of colleagues, including neurologists, interventional neuroradiologists and experienced neurosurgical nurses, and only performing surgery in specialised neurosurgical facilities, we aim to provide the highest standard of care to all our patients.
